Before Davido Fools You by Odeniran Deborah Olamide

"She no want designer, she no want ferrari, she say na my love o, you belong to me and I belong to her o."

How much those lyrics by Davido have given hope to some guys!

Broke-ass niggas keep giving themselves hope with those lyrics!
Some dudes on my BBM who're always loud with their PM's wouldn’t even change them anymore. How inspiring those lyrics are but the bottom line is, "we girls wouldn't do broke-ass dudes.” Chikena!

Dr. Sid sang "Surulere" because we believe whatever worthwile project we put our hands and efforts into, even though it might take time, would result into a something positive.

Davido sang that song as a plus to his career and definitely ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ would still smile to the bank, and one dude's there telling that Chic to "come balance for him". I laugh my hat off at the joker!

Get a life and we'd stay with you through thick and thin.
Hustlers! Those are the people we need.

Come to think of it, "How would my boyfriend give me ferrari or buggati and I'd say "no"? Come on! I can't gaan mo bus (hang on a bus) forever.
Even if my boyfriend sings that song to me, I go reject am within me. Haba! My first name must be "hard Life" to accept.

He'd tell me he wants to take me for shopping and I'd decline? Wake up dude!!!! I'd never do a broke-ass Nigga, no good girl will, let alone that wild one who's looking for a Maga.

I can't pray for my man to succeed and he'd end up singing that song to me.
Who else does he wanna spend the money on?

But Wait!! The Love we all are talking about is an action word. Prove it by acting it. Gone are those days we'd suffer with y'all, do the legedez benz, stroll to and fro Surulere, and after making the money, you'd fast forward your wheels to those chics in your assumed cliq. Nah! I'm not saying ladies shouldn't date guys who've got potentials but the bottom line is they should merge the potentials with performance.

You won't just sit your lazy ass there and keep singing those lyrics hoping babes would hear that. Babes are hustling, we won't settle for less.
So GUY, step up your game and get those lines off your head! Or better still, GET A LIFE!!!

Avoiding The Rush Trap by Odeniran Deborah Olamide

Just last weekend, I planned meeting a friend at Sweet Sensation. I actually kept him waiting a bit due to traffic. Bike driver got me grumpy that I couldn't wait to get off that thing.

Anxiously, I rushed into the eatery, I glimpsed at the already seated customers as I ‘catwalked’ through the hall to get the sight of my friend who I thought should be putting on a straight face after delaying him for an hour. I walked past the already seated-customers and found myself at the reception desk without seeing my friend.
As a good actress, I perfected the scene by ordering for snacks.

While waiting to collect my balance, I called my friend ASAP to come out from wherever I felt he was hiding (thinking there was a secluded place for customers in the eatery). My friend called back and the following conversation ensued between us:

Me: hey you! Where’re you? I'm @ Sweet Sensation already.
Friend: like seriously? I can't see or find you
Me: (rolls eyes, turns and faces d wall* saw the inscriptions on the wall "Tantalizers" *shockedlook*) Oh My God! *ends call*
The bottomline is I was meant to meet him @ Sweet Sensation and not Tantalizers.

I rushed into the wrong place because
1) I was an hour late
2)I was eager to meet the friend(because I've terribly missed him)
3) I wasn't observant.
This happens to many of us in our lives’ journey.
We head to the wrong place because we feel time's running out and crappy thoughts from nowhere just screws up.  Ain’t getting younger, we think. “I don’t think God even knows I exist” becomes their constant start-up thought and then,  anxiously, we tread the wrong path impatiently without being observant.

I keep reminding people “it’s not how far but how well.”
If I had actually taken my time, and didn't hurriedly step into any random eatery, but carefully observed the walls alone before got to the reception desk, I'd have seen the boldly written inscription. That'd have been enough to make me realize I was in Tantis and not SweetSensation.
But nah!
My thought line was "I'm late, I hope he's not angry".
Most people rush to get there (where they wanna be) because they feel they're disappointing other people. They keep talking "Mom's looking up to me, I'm the 1st son and haven't gotten a job.” “I'm a smart chap, I  should do YY(cybercrime) for just a shortwhile, get the money, stop the game and set up a biz." Like it’s that possible!
Fact is, you might not even get to the reception desk (end of the journey) before you get caught up and by then it’s too late.
You could perhaps get to the reception desk and things are messed up already.
Trying to re-shuffle it could even end up in an impossible state.
Accept that delay the way it comes. I still keep reminding friends every chance I get that "delay ain’t denial."

People might give some disgusting looks at you that could make you feel dejected but the creator knows what's best for you. He knows why he caused the delay. Patience still remains the key.
My friend still patiently waited even after an hour delay because he knew I was on my way and I'd turn up soon.
Why don't you switch those thoughts into positive, optimistic ones by believing God's almost there to unlock the key to your breakthrough?

There's a popular saying, "look before leaping", not "rush".
It implies you being attentive and mindful of every step you take, not doing things on impulses.
God speaks to everyone but only those who are attentive hear him clearly.
We should know what we're getting into before committing ourselves.

Synopsis - Lightning Up Fame by Kuti Olumide

Like a broken cd, it played continuously on my mind. Nnaa...Nnaa... Naomi. Not just some conventional word, not just a name, it was my heart beat pounding. It wasn’t a thunderous rhyme but yet flowed like a hurricane. Raising up every dead impulse in me. Every impulse that says everything happens for a reason; there just always something awesome out there.

She came into my life like a stranger’s call, all odds pointing to make it physically wobbly. Speedily but steadily she took her steps, yet with all graciousness she lifted my broken hope and breathe into me. She came to me when I least expected. I was like an outcast, lost and on trail towards destruction. With her grace she made me who I am. I can’t lose her now.

“Please open your eyes” I pleaded mournfully. “I can’t do this without you. I don’t know how to; I don’t even want to. If you can hear me, please move that adorable eye lids of yours. Give me a sign, give me something to work with” my weeps knew no pause. She just laid there, on the hospital bed. She hasn’t moved for days now. Her breathing and all about her was monitored through machines. I sat on the right side of her bed and held on to her hand. I stared at her and she still hasn’t moved that lid of hers, I buried my head softly with my teary face.

“Please Naomi” I begged. Then she gently moved her hands. I raised up my head and there was that mesmerizing eyes of hers widely open.

“Oh my God, you scared me” I said as I placed a kiss on her soft hand

“You said you will walk away with your heart if I leave you” she left out in a soft but stressed voice. “And I don’t want to lose your heart”

“You wouldn’t” I assured.

And there it was. She gave me a reason to be alive again, a reason to not crawl back into my hole; a reason to breathe. Just like she always does

My Pre Birthday Gift

Yaaaaaaaaay!

I got me some books authored by Michelle McKinney Hammond(MMH) and “the Confident woman” written by Joyce Meyer.

After reading her book, “secrets of an irresistible woman”, i was wow'ed, purchased and read "the Power of a Woman" by this terrific author.
At a point, I promised myself I was gon get more of her books but getting those books wasn’t as easy as I thought. Perhaps they"re scarce ('cos i couldnt get it from the store where i purchase my books) and i so hate the stress of Ultimate Search at bookstores.
Google directed me all the way to Olx.  Had to get in touch with the seller just to "sell it".
Somehow it was just tiring, keeping in touch with this seller(close to three weeks) all the way from Ogun state to get these books.(that's how desperate i can be when i really want to have something)
I felt I’d appreciate it more if I could just get these books as “my Pre Birthday gift”.
And Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay i did get "The Diva Principle, Sassy, Single and Satisfied, 101 ways to get and keep his attention, How to Be found by the man you’ve been looking for and What to Do Untill Love finds you(authored by MMH) alongside The Confident Woman by Joyce Meyer as my Pre-birthday gift.
My Pre-Birthday gift

 Would drop some reviews sooooooon.
Love y'all and a big thanks to Nike and her brother who made it possible.

Kingdom of Heaven posted by Kuti Olumide

Today you shall be inaugurated, for this is rated matured
We are all use to the saying
“In my father’s house there are many mansions”
Have we really took time to look deep into that statement
This aint just a shallow phrase
I mean, like, wow
Mansions? In a house?
I thought a mansion is said to be bigger
Believe me, I have tried to comprehend this, but it’s purely indescribable
This is a place of Gods discerning, where its citizen like us, are drunk in wonder
Rise and give a great applause, to a place where everything lives
This place is real, as potent as breathe
Some say they don’t believe in this place, yet they scream
“Let thy kingdom come”
Hmmm!!
A place with no factory yet brings forth faultless productions
Where the rejected are received
With so much warmth, goose pimples cant fade away
Is it who are we? Or I feel it’s what are we?
I know it’s what are we? Cos the psalmist said
“You knit me together in my mother’s womb”
Think of those words, you are knitted together
You aren’t an assembly-line product
You are so deliberately planned, he is mindful of you
Immortally and eternally loving, he wants us in this place
A place where we eat, blink, speak, drink, we even sweat life
A place of acceptance, eternal life and forgiveness
Listen!
I don’t know what baggage you carrying
You asking for a mate, but you still sleeping alone
You asking for a child, but your womb stays barren
You want to pass that exam, but the red ink stays on
You ask for healing, but you are hurting
Please, don’t think HE aint listening
For the book of Mathew 5v3 said
“Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs the kingdom of heaven
That’s what unique about this invisible kingdom
A kingdom where people have value, not because of what they do, but because of whose they are
For in this world of injustice
God once and for all tipped the scales in the favor of hope. And he did it by sitting us on his hands that we should know this kingdom.
Cleave to this kingdom
That the mystery, which will comfort our matchless morns will be revealed.
